Emeraude Classic Cruise is an overnight vessel operated by Emeraude Cruises on Halong Bay, a UNESCO-listed limestone seascape in northern Vietnam. The boat sails from the bay marina, carrying guests through the karst formations and calm inlets that define this part of the Gulf of Tonkin. The itinerary is structured around the water itself: kayaking among the rock formations, entering a cave accessible by sea, watching the light change over the bay at sunset, and waking to find the same landscape transformed by early morning mist.
Two itinerary lengths are available — a two-day, one-night programme and an extended three-day, two-night programme. The shorter option covers the core bay experience in a concentrated arc, while the longer itinerary moves deeper into the bay on the second full day, reaching a fishing village, a beach, and a further cave before a late-morning departure on day three. All meals are included on board for both programmes. The transfer between Hanoi and the pier is arranged separately and sits outside the on-board rate.
Choosing between the two itineraries largely depends on how much time a traveller can give to the water. One night is enough to absorb the scale of the bay and complete the essential activities; two nights allow the itinerary to slow down, move further from the busier boarding area, and give a morning — with optional tai-chi on deck — before the return journey begins.
